    About FUNdamentalz
Half-day Freestyle Ski Program ~ Ages 7 and up

Welcome to the Freestyle Canada FUNdamentalz program. This widely successful program provides a SAFE and FUN on-snow learning environment for young skiers.

FUNdamentalz is a great place to meet new friends, have fun in a safe environment, and learn freestyle skiing skills. (Freestyle skills are divided into Blue/Black levels, which are outlined in the FUNdamentalz Report Card.)

FUNdamentalz participants must be strong parallel skiers, able to ski blue/black terrain confidently and without assistance, able to load and unload the chairlift independently, and able take care of their own equipment.

FUNdamentalz athletes will be grouped based on both skill level and which friends they would like to ski with. Friend requests should be listed on the registration form. Limit of one friend per registrant. Please arrange friend requests with your friend in advance of registration.

Minimum age – Athletes must be age 7 prior to the program start date (January 6, 2024).

For all-day Freestyle programs, check out Freestylerz or G Team. If you snowboard, check out our Winter Snowboard programs.

    Common Questions

    What is included?

FUNdamentalz athletes will be coached by a trained FUNdamentalz Freestyle Ski Coach.

Participants will receive a jersey to proudly show they are with SS Freestyle, create a team environment, and recognize/promote our valued sponsors.

What does a FUNdamentalz skier need to have?

Skiers MUST have their own ski pass, skis, poles, ski boots, helmet, goggles, gloves, and be dressed for the weather conditions.

We recommend skiers have one or more pocket snacks to keep energy levels consistent throughout their FUNdamentalz sessions.

    Do you ever cancel sessions?

We try our best to run classes every week as scheduled. In the event the temperature is -20 (or colder) with windchill, we may cancel a session.

In the case of an “extraordinary” circumstance, classes may be cancelled as well.

In these cases, SS Freestyle will strive to make up missed sessions later in the season. This may not be possible in all cases.

    What if we are late?

Coaches meet their groups at 8:30 AM or 12:30 at a drop-off area to be determined. Usually a coach will be available at the drop-off area 15 minutes after the program starts to help your child join their group.

If you are later than 15 minutes after the program starts, check in at the brown bag lunch room where an SS Freestyle club representative should be on hand.

Text 250-550-5322 if you need assistance.

    Refund Policy?

All participants will be asked to read and acknowledge the SS Freestyle refund policy upon registration for the program.
