SS Freestyle is recruiting new freestyle coaches for 24/25 Ski Season. Come join the SS Freestyle coach team! In preparation for the season SS Freestyle Leadership program will set you up to have a rewarding and successful experience.
This program has changed a bit over the years. With the SS Freestyle Club growing and the sport of Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding growing we are adapting to the demands. This year’s program is currently offered to freestyle skiers. But if you are a snowboarder and would like to become a coach please let us know by sending your resume and cover letter. We will help you come up with a plan.
2023-24. To prepare Coach participants for coaching in the winter season SS Freestyle will offer the leadership training program the following dates in DECEMBER:

- Sunday December 15 – Ski with Wade. Meet 12:30 next to NATC

- All coaches that sign-up must provide coach Membership ($135) – Click here
- Must register for an SS Freestyle Fundamentalz Course Dec 17/18 ($300) – Click here

- To introduce participants to freestyle-ski coaching. Skills include:

- group management
- lesson planning (training exercises, safety, and of course, fun!)
- lesson execution (leadership and adaptability)

- To prepare participants for the Fundamentalz coaching course

- Entry course to become a certified freestyle ski coach. Must be 14 years old.

- To gain a deeper understanding of freestyle skiing

- you strengthen your own skills through coaching!

- To prepare participants to work as an SS Freestyle Coach
Participants are led by experienced freestyle ski coaches who will guide and teach them the Fundamentalz skills. The coach in training will shadow his or her mentor coach, help plan lessons, and learn to lead a group on skis. Coach participants will practice coaching and demonstrating skills. And be given opportunities to improve their own skiing skills.
Athletes aged 15-18. Participants can enroll in this program for multiple seasons before taking the Fundamentalz course.
The minimum age to coach is 16. Coaches under the age of 16 (15) will be supervised by an adult Coach leader. Jr. Coaches will only get paid if selected to coach from the leadership program and if there is enough registrations in programs.
